AUG 19-20 Zug, Zurich
A 1200 dollar flight got me to Zurich, though in Atlanta we had to change planes after an electric problem. Met my friend Mike Fernandez in Atlanta and we had a cramped 9 hour flight to Zurich. Got the train to friend Anne Claude in Zug, got our track meet tickets and trained back to Letzigrund stadium. I last went to this meet in 1980. Good points: Chris Solinsky 12:56 in the 5000m for 2nd, with Galen Rupp 13:06, and Jeremy Warner winning the 400m. Bad: no men or women 800m and few American sprinters.
